Vaurien World Champions 2026 - Olmo Cerri and Gioia Bertolani

Olmo Cerri and Gioia Bertolani are the 2026 Vaurien World Champions. 

The team from Italy led the championship from the first day and there were no doubts at any time who was the best performing team on the waters of  Travemünde. Witgh 13 points from 10 races and 7 race wins, this was a dominant series.

On 2nd place are Pablo and Isabel Cabello from Spain, followed on equal points by Francois-Xavier Drougou and Caroline Guilloux from France.

Cosimo d’Inecco and Gabriele Bellino (ITA) are the 2026 Vaurien JUNIOUR champions

Sissel Acasuso and Tomad Budino (ESP) and Adrian Gregorio and Anton Dopico (ESP) on 2nd and 3rd place.

Paula Gonzalez-Estaban and Alejandra Vicens Martinenz (ESP) are the 2026 Vaurien Female Champions.

The team also won the prestigious Mieke Pannevis Price for the fasted Women skipper.

 

 

The Vaurien Nations Cup goes to the Netherlands … againg

The Nations Cup goes to the national team that has (1) at least three boats in the championship and (2) placed one team from each country behind themselves.
A feat that sounds easier than it is. And again, it was the three boats from Netherlands, placed on 4, 10, and 17 overall, that won the Nations Cup.

The 64th Vaurien World Championship is closed.

Peter Lakshmanan, president of the International Vaurien Class Assosication, closed the championship. 
The flag was lowered and Dirk Pater, president of the German Vaurien Class handed the flag to the Spanish Vaurien Class, represented by its president Nacho Campos.


The 2027 Vaurien World Championship will be sailed in Vigo, Spain, from July 24 to July 30. See you all there.
