A very windy Monday made the Vaurien fleet wait for better conditions, first on shore, later we left the harbour and went out to the race area and waited another 2 hours before eventually at 15:00 hrs the 1st race could be started. It was wet, cold, and windy, around 5 Bft, later easing to 4 Bft.
Only 33 boats made it to the start, the others, especially younger or lighter crews decided to stay on shore, while some tried but capsized already on the way out.
Three races could be sailed, with Olmo Cerri and Gioiai Bertolani from Italy being the masters of the day, scoring three race wins, followed by Pablo and Isabel Cabello (ESP) and Pedro Fernandez and Carolina Iglesias (ESP) on third place.
